Troubadour Summer Camp
In July 2012, we held our first summer camp, and such was the response that we have continued every summer since. The theme is “Singing and Songwriting” and 20 young people between 9 and 13 years of age are led by singer/teacher/pianist Deirdre Starr and songwriter/guitarist Bernard Roche through 5 days of song singing and song composition.
The camp involves singing in the large group and composing songs in small groups. Each small group brings their composition to the large group for fine tuning, and the week ends with a performance of the composed songs for parents and extended family. A CD of all the new songs is given to each of the participants.
